About the artwork

Bokeh (pronounced bokè) is the effect you see here. Spherical dots created when the depth of field is small and (usually) in backlight. All sorts of things can cause the bokeh effect: sparkles, reflections, lights, water drops. In this photo, it is the drops of heavy morning dew on the grass in the background. The further the drops are from the focus point the larger the spheres become. Strong bokeh effects are sometimes reminiscent of pointillist or abstract art.

You can also see a few drops hanging from the seeds of the blade of grass on the right of the photo. An extra dimension in the photo are the blurred culms illuminated by the bokeh bulbs (left of centre). A wonderful gift from Mother Nature.
The subject of the photo is of course the seed plume on the right of the photo, which I think is Common Ostrich Grass (Agrostis Capillaris). Somewhat modestly in the corner, the culm seems to be enjoying the spectacle.
Bokeh gives an image like this a somewhat dreamy and picturesque effect.
