Graphic poster of Lake Bled with coordinates | Slovenia | Graphic by Laura Dijkslag

This black-and-white photo shows Slovenia's famous Lake Bled, with the small island and the characteristic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the middle. The image is clean and graphic: lots of white space, a minimalist layout and the coordinates indicating exactly where this spot is located. That makes this work more than just a photograph - it almost takes on the look of an art poster or design object.

The choice of black and white removes all noise and emphasises shapes, contrast and tranquillity. The smooth water and soft contours of the mountains in the background create a calm image, while the church as the centrepiece draws all the attention. As a photographer, I did not want to simply capture this iconic view, but add something that makes it timeless and graphic. This creates a work that appeals to travellers and lovers of minimalist art alike.

This work suits people who have a thing for Slovenia - because they have been there, or because they still dream of a trip to Bled. But it is also a strong choice for lovers of sleek interior styles, black-and-white photography and landscapes. The image combines the beauty of travel and nature with a modern, clean design.

This translates a beloved travel destination into a work of art that deserves a place in the home - whether in the living room, bedroom or study.
