I photographed this Gerbera in the Keukenhof, the big flower park in the Netherlands where you will find more than 7 millions blooming flowers. I noticed this Gerbera because of its beautiful structure. The heart, with a border of lots of small flowers, forms a true work of art together with the leaves fanning out around it. The image is completely finished by the white accents in the pink petals.
What I like about this photo is that you are sort of pulled into it. And that starts with the lines of the outer petals. They are all focused on the central heart of the flower, so your eye is drawn to that. The inner ring with leaves is much more irregular, but it also causes a sort of turning movement. Because of the lines, the movement and the fact that I zoomed in so much, you are drawn into the image.
