The golden crab monkey (Leontopithecus chrysomelas) is a small monkey species.
The golden cape is about 20 to 30 cm long with a tail of 33 to 39 cm and weighs 0.5 to 1 kg. They live in northeastern Brazil. They're rare and endangered. They have a shiny golden-yellow head and some golden-yellow parts.
They mainly eat fruit, insects, lizards, eggs and small birds. The Antwerp Zoo manages and coordinates the herdbook of this species worldwide to ensure its conservation.
