Golden-yellow grain fields in the Eifel, seen from the air by Hans Boutkan

This artwork depicts a sweeping landscape in the Eifel Nature Park, seen from the air. In the foreground, golden-yellow cornfields immediately catch the eye. Their warm colour forms a beautiful contrast with the green hills and woods stretching out in the distance. Subtly hidden amongst the greenery is a small village, almost as if it were embraced by the landscape. Above it all hangs a clear blue sky, lending the scene a sense of openness and space.

The inspiration for this work came during a trip through the Eifel, where the landscape is constantly changing and never ceases to surprise you. It is precisely the combination of agriculture, nature and human presence that makes this image so special. It is not a specific location that takes centre stage, but the sense of space, tranquillity and harmony that this environment evokes.

With this drone photograph, I wanted to capture the beauty of simplicity: the lines of the fields, the layered contours of the hills and the interplay between warm and cool colours. The bird’s-eye view lends the landscape an almost painterly quality, in which composition and colour enhance one another.

This piece brings a calm, warm atmosphere to an interior. It is well suited to lovers of nature, rural landscapes, travel and open vistas. The golden-yellow tones provide warmth, whilst the green and blue add freshness and balance.
