About ‘Golden September’ by Nina Thilo

A scene that immediately evokes the scent of summer. In the foreground lies a vast field of sunflowers in full bloom, their yellow heads slightly out of focus, so that they blend into a carpet of colour. Rising above it is the silhouette of the Franconian village of Poppenreuth with its red-tiled roofs, a slender maypole and the characteristic church tower that has shaped the village’s skyline for centuries. The depth of field has been deliberately chosen: the foreground is soft and sensual, the background clear and distinct. The result is an image that simultaneously evokes both intimacy and vastness, connecting nature and culture without one dominating the other. This motif appeals to all who know and love Franconia, but also to anyone seeking a rural idyll as a contrast to everyday life. As a print, it is ideal for dining rooms, country-style kitchens and holiday homes – anywhere where warmth, tranquillity and a sense of home are desired. The vibrant yellow tones and soft light make an equally strong impression on both light and dark backgrounds.
