The photo shows 1 of the 2 piers of the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Western America. A beautiful piece of civil engineering art known for its beautiful red colour. This is the colour of the primer, menie, of the steel that was brought in during construction. The architect of this a beautiful colour and is this colour can be seen well in the fog. This colour has therefore been retained. Though a bold choice to transfer the photo in black and white, but think the bridge looks good even now. Clearly visible are the many rivets used to build the bridge.
The bridge is for large parts in the fog over this strait. In the photo, you can see the shadows of the steel cables from which the bridge hangs in the fog.
