About ‘Girl with hat and gloves’ by Matthias Stolt

This nostalgic-looking photo was taken in the studio. The model posed topless wearing gloves and a hat with a veil. The photo was taken on analogue slide film and then scanned. In image editing, the photo was digitised and then toned in sepia. The outfit and sepia toning give the image a nostalgic touch.

I worked as a freelance photo designer for 25 years. My focus was on fashion and advertising photography. I am also the author of numerous books and articles in trade magazines.
Before becoming self-employed, I worked in marketing for a large camera manufacturer, where I was in charge of public relations.

I discovered my love of photography during my training as a retoucher. This sparked a desire not only to edit photos, but to take them myself.
