About ‘Giants of the Savannah.’ by willy's world

In October, there is a special tension in the air in Tanzania. The landscape is hot, dusty and parched after months without rain. The first storm clouds are slowly gathering on the horizon, whilst life goes on around the cool patches of shade that still offer protection from the scorching sun. During the hottest hours of the day, this impressive herd of African elephants sought relief from the heat beneath a solitary tree — calm, yet imposing in their presence.

The African elephant is the largest land animal in the world. An adult male can weigh up to 7,500 kilos and stand almost four metres tall. Their enormous ears act as natural fans to dissipate heat, whilst their trunk — made up of thousands of muscles — is powerful yet delicate enough to both snap a tree branch and gently sip water.

What made this encounter special was the calm within the group. The herd was led by an experienced matriarch who vigilantly protected her family from the day’s heat. This photograph tells a story beyond just a safari moment. It is an image of strength, family, survival and the quiet beauty of Africa just before the rainy season begins — a timeless work of art that brings warmth, adventure and nature into any space.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
