This bearded dragon is completely taken out of its comfort zone when posing on the white background paper. This is easy to see in the dark grey throat. Yet this white background in particular makes for a nice bright display of this special animal's beautiful colours. After the shoot, we quickly returned him to his terrarium.

I came this close to not being involved in photography. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic, with the biggest parallax error you could wish for! So I always had pictures of people without heads. I used these cassettes with 12 or 24 photos, black and white (that was cheaper than colour!). I was advised to be economical with this material. I only took a picture if I was sure it was worth it. Later, when I had a reflex camera, I used slides (cheaper indeed!). They have to…
