About the artwork

The Goethe-Schiller Monument is a bronze double statue of the German poets Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich von Schiller, was inaugurated in 1857 and stands in front of the German National Theatre on the Theaterplatz in Weimar.

Here is a composition of typography, texture and digital watercolour of the monument by Dirk h. Wendt.

The Weimar Classicism, which was mainly supported by Goethe and Schiller, deserves its name not only as a second peak achievement of German literature, but also because it ties in with the ideal of humanity and the concept of art of the Renaissance and, like this, is connected with antiquity. Goethe and Schiller were convinced that the people of classical antiquity lived their lives cheerfully and happily. The Classics wanted to lead the inwardly torn man of their time to this harmony with the help of art.

Dirk h. Wendt has his roots in Oldenburg in Northern Germany, he studied in Berlin and lives and works today in Dietzenbach-Steinberg near Frankfurt.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
