As an abstract art photographer, I am always looking for the visual harmony in everyday structures and shapes. This work, titled Geometric Balance, shows a close-up of two adjacent buildings. The left side shows a white, textured wall, while the right side shows a beige wall with a pitched roof covered in dark, rectangular tiles. The geometric lines and the contrast between the smooth, white wall and the textured, beige wall make this image visually captivating.
My inspiration for Geometric Balance came from my fascination with architectural elements and how they can form a harmonious composition together. I was influenced by the works of Piet Mondrian and Donald Judd, who are known for their use of geometry and colour to create balance and structure in their art.
The mood I try to set with this work is one of calm and order, inviting the viewer to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of architectural forms. The blue sky with some clouds in the background adds to the overall aesthetic of the image, giving it a serene and contemplative feel.
What makes this work special in an interior is its ability to create a calming, reflective atmosphere. It adds an element of abstract art that subtly enriches the space with its geometric shapes and contrasts. Geometric Balance is a captivating and intriguing centrepiece that invites further exploration and appreciation of the beauty that lies in architectural simplicity.
