Parque das Nações is an area on the east side of the Portuguese capital Lisbon. It lies between the city and the Vasco da Gama Bridge. Formerly an industrial area, it is now full of art and architectural gems. The park was created for the World Expo in 1998, when the famous Vasco da Gama Bridge was also built. It is possible to travel along the banks of the Tagus by gondola, but there is also a beautiful walkway which is sometimes surrounded by water on both sides, as shown in this picture.
