Just after the sun sets over the sea, the full moon rises over the inland forests. The best timing is when it is still light because the sun has just set but the moon is already above the horizon. This creates a nice combination of colour and contrast that make the colours so warm in this photo. France's south-western coastline is characterised with long stretches of beaches, a narrow, high row of dunes and, behind them, vast forests as far as the eye can see. The perfect place to have an open view to both the east and also the west.
