One of my favourite subjects to photograph are sunrises and sunsets. I like to get up extra early to be there on time.
So too on a cold February morning when it had slightly frozen and the landscape looked beautifully wintery.
I went for a nice walk in my neighbourhood. Just outside my residential area are many meadows and farms. Plenty of beautiful things to see in this atmosphere.
My eye caught the glistening ice crystals stuck to the barbed wire of a meadow. I found this very fascinating to see. Especially as the sunrise colours added colour to what I was seeing.
I had to take a nice picture of this ! It was a walk with many beautiful pictures that morning, of which this one stood out for me. That is why I am happy to post this photo here on Werk aan de Muur.
The image exudes both the cold morning and the warm glow of the sun. While barbed wire is normally not so nice to look at, I can keep looking at this image spellbound. Knowing that my early wake-up call was worth it again !
