Fresh Spring: Budding Ferns in Ossendrecht by Kristof Leffelaer

Bring the pure power and vitality of the Dutch spring into your home with this fascinating portrait of nature. This detailed macro shot, taken in the woods of Ossendrecht, shows the budding fern fronds pushing their way upwards through the dead foliage. The image captures the magical moment when the tightly coiled leaves (known as ‘fiedels’) unfurl, revealing their vibrant, fresh green colour.

The contrasting textures — the rough, hairy brown scales set against the soft, new foliage — create a dynamic composition that exudes tranquillity and timelessness. This artwork instantly brings an atmosphere of natural renewal and tranquillity to your home.
