This macro shot shows a dragonfly, slender and graceful, balancing on a fragile twig. The bright red and yellow of its body contrasts subtly with the soft, green background, making the insect seem almost to step out of the photo. If you look closely, you can see the fine details in its wings, the delicate hairs on its body and even a reflection in its facet eyes - small elements that often go unnoticed in everyday life.
The inspiration for this work came during a summer morning walk, when I marvelled at the tranquillity of nature and the precision with which everything seems to be in balance. For me, this image is an ode to the small wonders around us, which we often only see when we take the time to really look.
With this work, I want to evoke a sense of stillness and admiration. The dragonfly, often a symbol of change and fragile strength, is central here as a reminder of how extraordinary the everyday can be.
The photo was taken with a macro lens, where I deliberately chose an extremely small depth of field. This creates a dreamy atmosphere in which the dragonfly detaches from the background. This work fits beautifully into an interior where an eye for detail, nature and tranquillity come together.
