About the artwork

"Fragile and impermanent still life: Our last time together" is a photo of beautiful dried petals from a plant in Lanzarote.
The plant from which these petals come is called the Bougainvillea. This plant has beautiful beautifully coloured bracts, these bracts are around the real flowers (and later around the seeds). These leaves, with the plant's seeds, have fallen off the plant. Through the leaves, you can still vaguely see the seeds (oblong shadow in about the middle of the leaf). The two "sets" leaves are each joined with three leaves by a thin twig.
These leaves had fallen off the plant and were partly dried by the Spanish sun and become very thin. The leaves seem to have become almost transparent. As a result, you can see the beautiful vein structure of these leaves very well.
If you zoom in on the photo, you can see that I chose a small depth of field when taking this picture, so a small part is in focus and everything in front and behind it gradually fades away. This makes the background almost even in colour and creates depth in the work. This setting also creates a somewhat dreamy atmosphere. The leaves lie on a mirrored surface, so you can see the leaves again, upside down, and a bit fainter in the ground surface.
Beautiful to hang on the wall as a wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, hallway or simply above the couch!
