Tips for use

About ‘Forte de Almádena ruins in the Algarve, relics from other times’ by David Gorlitz

In the distant past, when pirates and other scum sailed along Portugal's coast, forts like this one were needed to keep watch over nearby villages and ports. Although there is not much left of Forte de Almádena , the view today is as impressive as ever.

As this ruin is not exactly on the main thoroughfare, few visitors come here.…
