About "Forgotten couch - contrast between light and decay"

by Infinite Decay

About the artwork

At the centre of the picture is an old, dilapidated lounger that has long since seen its best days. The worn, slightly discoloured cover reflects the decay that pervades the entire room. The lounger looks like a relic from another time, left behind in a room that time has forgotten. In contrast, the window opens, through which bright daylight streams into the room and gives the gloomy, mould-covered walls and the dusty curtain a warm glow. This ray of light brings an almost comforting mood to the oppressive scene and emphasises the contrast between the weathered couch and the vibrant nature outside.

The contrast between the neglected, decaying lounger and the light coming in from outside emphasises the melancholy atmosphere of the room. It is as if the lounger is trapped in darkness, while the window offers a view of a world that continues to live and evolve. This scene is a reminder of how places that were once full of life eventually remain only silent witnesses to the past.
