Heath or heath is a name for vegetation consisting mainly of dwarf shrubs in the heath family. Heather is found in a limited number of countries. Apart from the Netherlands and Belgium, it is also found in the coastal strip of Western Europe, Britain and Ireland. It is a typical vegetation that feels at home in regions with a maritime climate, with high humidity and not too hot summers and not harsh winters.

The Westerheide is a heathland area of 344 ha on the territory of Hilversum and Laren. The area borders the Bussumerheide, the A1 motorway, the built-up area of Hilversum and the Amsterdam-Amersfoort railway line. The heath forms a whole with the Bussummerheide. On the border between the two areas runs a dead straight, unpaved road, about 3 km long, the New Crailoseweg also called Prayer without End.

Fog is a weather phenomenon where small water droplets float in the air like an aerosol, limiting visibility. Fog can form by cooling very humid air (to below the dew point) or by mixing cold with warm humid air. The formation of fog depends on many factors, such as air pollution, vegetation, relief and proximity to open water.

If I do get up early to watch the sunrise, let it be in a beautiful natural area. Like on Westerheide, with its solitary trees that contrast fantastically with the moorland landscape. And especially in misty conditions like this, the dawn has absolute gold in its mouth.
