I was out to photograph the Obdam mill. It was the last week of tulip bulbs (as far as I guessed) and I knew this mill was a hot commodity this season. So seeing that fog was coming, I got out of bed at quarter to 5 to be in time for sunrise.
However, the fog was so thick that the mill almost disappeared. I really had to wait for the sun to make it visible. Then I stood by a fence and saw this image - the wild weeds, the water, the wood and in the distance the sun and the mill. I immediately realised that the mill didn't need to be so prominent in the picture at all for a serene image.
I ended up being much happier with this than the shots I took of the mill alone.
