About ‘Fog over the Ven’ by Vague & Form

I took this photograph in the early morning at the Oisterwijkse Vennen. I was walking through the woods, and just as the landscape opened up, the mist slowly rolled in. The sun had just disappeared behind the mist, making the light soft and still.

I quickly took this photo before the tree disappeared completely into the mist. Every time I come here, this area feels special, whatever the conditions — but it was precisely this moment, when the silence and the atmosphere came together perfectly, that I wanted to capture before it vanished.
