The Brouwersgracht is an Amsterdam canal that connects the Singel with the Singelgracht. The Brouwersgracht is the most important part of the city's water system. In the Netherlands, the urban water system is characterised by a high level of urbanisation and a high degree of urbanisation in the neighbourhood.

The (house) numbering of Lijnbaansgracht, Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Singel starts from Brouwersgracht. Between Brouwersgracht nr. 62 and nr. 68, near the West-Indisch Huis, lies Herenmarkt.

In 2007, readers of Het Parool voted the Brouwersgracht the most beautiful street in Amsterdam out of 150 nominations.

In 1612 the canal was dug southwards from the Brouwersgracht. Since 1594 the canal has owed its name to the many breweries that could be found in this area in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. From 1782 onwards the Brouwersgracht near the Driehoekstraat was home to Amsterdam's last distillery of gin and liqueurs, De Ooievaar. Most of the warehouses, built for the storage of goods, have been converted into houses.

Across the Brouwersgracht you can find among others Brug 15 (at the Singel), the Melkmeisjesbrug (Brug 16, between the Binnen Wieringerstraat and the Herengracht), the West-Indische huisbrug (Brug 17, between the Herenmarkt and the Herengracht), the Papiermolensluis (Brug 57, between the Korte Prinsengracht and the Prinsengracht), and the Oranjebrug (Brug 146, between the Binnen Oranjestraat and the Willemsstraat).
