Flyby of a beautiful Douglas A-26B Invader, nicknamed "Silver Dragon", during the Thunder over Michigan Airshow in 2015.
The Douglas A-26 Invader dates back to the latter days of World War II. The Douglas A-26 Invader was the successful successor to the A-20 Havoc and was one of the USAAF's attack bombers in World War II. The first prototype was built in 1942 but it took until 1944 before the machine went into production. The USAAF ordered 7,703 aircraft, but after the end of the war this order was reduced so that eventually 2,529 aircraft were built. The A-26 Invader was used during the Korean War in the 50s and remained in service with the USAF until the end of the 50s.
