I took this long exposure on 4 October 2015 with the Nikon D90 and tripod on the bank of the Berlin Spree, opposite the Jannowitz Bridge. Due to the extended exposure time, the passing ship is only shown in coloured stripes. This creates a luminous, fascinating, nocturnal play of light. This wonderful urban water motif radiates a mysterious mood and special atmosphere. The banks of the Spree awaken to a fairytale-like picture backdrop and cast a spell over the observer. For lovers of night shots, the motif is ideally suited for hanging in bedrooms and achieves a strongly meditative and calming effect. Those looking for peace and contemplation in the bustling and lively metropolis of Berlin will find many suitable paths for a nocturnal stroll along the banks of the Spree. Especially the still pleasant evening temperatures of the beginning of autumn offer a perfect opportunity for this.
