With "Flowers and Leaves," Verster makes his debut in spectacular fashion. The wilted sorrel leaves and snowballs - considered by many to be weeds and field flowers - come across as particularly shocking to the public in a monumental format. His dramatic and mysterious painting style represents a radical departure from traditional floral still lifes.
