In IJmuiden's wintry harbour, fishing cutters lie firmly at the quay, their bows facing the grey, stormy sea. The railings are wet from splashing water, while dark clouds gather over the water. An approaching storm sketches the horizon, highlighting the raw and harsh reality of fishing life. IJmuiden reveals itself as a rugged, working harbour where the elements and humans battle with each other daily.
