This maritime shot was taken during my photo trip to the island of Sicily in the south of Italy. The water reflection of the clouds creates an exciting, dramatic atmosphere. The soft, gentle evening light lends the natural motif a magical, nostalgic atmosphere. The fishermen of the Sicilian harbour have moored their boats and are resting for the hard day's fishing the next morning.

This maritime harbour landscape was taken on 25 October 2024 in the late evening hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8) at the picturesque old harbour basin in the beautiful fishing village of Giardini-Naxos on the island of Sicily.
I discovered this enchanting harbour during my autumn trip on a daily walk along the beautiful coastal road.
The popular tourist destination is located directly on the east coast of Sicily, not far from the fantastic city of Catania. Giardini-Naxos boasts clear, turquoise-coloured seawater with beautiful beaches and a unique bay for water sports enthusiasts and swimming fans.
