This digital image, Feline Chow Time, is based on a photograph taken by my husband and used with his kind permission.
Three kittens were abandoned near our house when they were six weeks old. We took them in and they became a much loved part of our household. As adult cats, they would always line up to eat next to each other as can be seen in the picture, on a wooden feeding table, heads in their feed bowls with just the top of their heads and pricked ears showing, and their tails hanging over the edge of the table.
The one on the left is a calico cat called Lucy. The middle tabby and white was called Giacomo and he died many years ago of a heart problem. The one on the right, a brown and white tabby called Malteser, has just been diagnosed with end stage cancer which is a bit sad. But Lucy and Malteser are 13 years old and really made good when they came to live with us. Not only have they had lovely lives but they have enriched our home. And we love them to pieces! I am also priviledged to be able to preserve their memory in my artwork.
