Fog or morning mist can have a mysterious or alienating effect and that is what I have tried to capture in this picture. Straight lines of crops disappearing on a horizon that is not there because of the layer of morning fog that is still too thick for the sun to shine through. The photo was taken in Polder de Biesbosch near Dordrecht, an area that now consists of dykes, fields and farmland but was still part of the flood forests of the Biesbosch until the early 20th century.
