Farm-fresh Eggs

by Marieke Wouters

‘Farm Fresh Eggs’ is an ode to simplicity, craftsmanship and the beauty of everyday life. In a decorative bowl, eggs in soft shades lie gathered together, like precious forms that feel both familiar and timeless. The warm yellow background and the pink bowl give the piece a sunny feel that instantly brings warmth and light into a room.

The collage exudes tranquillity, gentleness and a sense of security. The simple forms and the limited subject matter lend it an almost meditative quality. The image evokes memories of country kitchens, fresh ingredients and the rhythm of a life centred on an appreciation of simple things. The work invites us to reflect on the beauty that lies in the ordinary.

The inspiration for this collage stems from everyday observations and the appeal of simple objects. Eggs, a bowl and a table come together to form an image that captures the essence of simple living. By placing these modest elements at the centre, a still life is created that feels both contemporary and timeless.

The work combines collage with painted areas of colour and handmade textures. The subtle colour nuances, visible layers and soft forms lend the piece an artisanal character and a warm feel.

‘Farm Fresh Eggs’ fits beautifully into a country-style home, a Scandinavian interior, a modern kitchen or a colourful contemporary interior. It appeals to art lovers who appreciate still lifes, contemporary collage art and works of art in which simplicity and beauty go hand in hand.
