The nostalgic Taormina-Giardini railway station is located outside the centre of Giardini Naxos.
This beautiful railway station has already shone as a location for films such as the mafia epic "The Godfather" and the diving film "Into the Deep".
Taormina-Giardini Naxos railway station is one of the main stations on the Messina-Catania line. The station was inaugurated in 1866 and is housed in a remarkable Art Nouveau building consisting of a two-storey main building flanked by two side wings.
I discovered this wonderful, historic train station during my summer photo tour on the east coast of Sicily on 10 July 2015.
The photo was taken with the NIKON D90 (lens: 18.0-50.0 mm f/2.8).
The reduction of the colour tones to classic black and white lends the urban motif a timeless, graphically clear and elegant atmosphere.
