During autumn it is a busy time in the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes. The fallow deer's rutting season is in full swing. The males run around, where the females stay in the background for now. Sometimes you come across two males provoking a fight, or being in a fight.
As close as during the rutting season, you don't see the deer. They look right through you, as it were.
At times, the deer rest and enjoy the rising sun, as in the picture.
