This is my favourite tree and it is also a favourite scene to photograph. The original photograph I made of this scene is called Oak Frame and is by far my favourite image. That one was made in the midst of summer. This one was made in the midst of autumn. I wanted to see how this composition changed over the seasons and how the change of colour would affect the mood. This was a particularly foggy day, with fog that was sometimes so dense you could hardly see anything. The scene with the oaks gets its depth by the birch trees in the background which are only just visible. I love how they are elegant almost straight lines, whilst the oak trees seem to have a character of their own.
