About "Faded splendour - The abandoned armchairs in the shadow of time"

by Infinite Decay

About the artwork

Two orange-coloured armchairs stand in a gloomy room, abandoned and marked by time. Their once vibrant colours now look dull and dirty, witnesses to years of neglect and slow decay. The floor is covered in brittle wood and dust, as if the past had left its mark here. The walls, covered in peeling paint and cracks, tell stories of abandonment and oblivion. In the corner of the room stands a solitary floor lamp, which may once have lit the room but is now itself shrouded in darkness.

This scene radiates an oppressive silence and a mysterious melancholy. It is as if the furniture, silent and immobile, is reminiscent of better days and preserves the atmosphere of conversations and encounters long gone. The room seems frozen in time and offers the viewer a glimpse into the transience of life and the cosiness that once reigned here. Every crack and every layer of dust emphasises the feeling of loneliness that surrounds this place.
