From idea for the garden, to painting.
Where I get my inspiration is very different, but there is quite a nice story behind this painting. I was looking for inspiration for our garden. I was looking at grass, fences and clicking through a bit when I came across "moss graffiti" and suddenly I thought, but that's special! You can put moss in a blender and paint it on your wall. Then it creates the drawing you put on it when it starts to grow.
I liked the dark green color and the texture. They had used some lines there and the result was so nice, I wanted to try the same thing with paint. I pressed the brush, while drawing a line, harder or softer to create lighter and darker spots.
The painting was done with watercolors. The original is 30 x 40 cm, but the nice thing about a print is that you can choose any size and material you want.
The painting has been photographed in such a way that the structure of the watercolor paper is still clearly visible. This has the advantage that it looks even more like a real painting, even though it is a print.
