An F-16 fighter aircraft from the Volkel airbase of the Netherlands Royal Air Force. The Royal Netherlands Air Force (KLu) is the youngest Dutch armed force alongside the Royal Netherlands Navy (KM), Royal Netherlands Army (KL) and Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary (KMar). The operational units of the air force therefore now fall under the Air Force Command (CLSK) and directly under the Commander of the Armed Forces. The Royal Air Force's motto of arms is Parvus numero, magnus merito (Small in number, great in deeds).
