A specially painted F-16 fighter aircraft from the Volkel airbase of the Dutch Royal Air Force. The Royal Air Force (KLu) is the youngest part of the Dutch armed forces alongside the Royal Netherlands Navy (KM), the Royal Netherlands Army (KL) and the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary (KMar). The operational units of the air force therefore now fall under the Air Force Command (CLSK) and directly under the Commander of the Armed Forces. The motto of the Royal Netherlands Air Force is Parvus numero, magnus merito (Small in number, great in deeds).
