Sometimes you come across an animal that makes you pause for a moment. This cat sat in a corner where the light just fell past. Its fur soft grey, eyes bright green, and under its paws a floor glistening with coloured pebbles.
She looked up as if she knew something we forgot. Something simple perhaps, or just something beyond our comprehension. It was not a fleeting encounter. We looked at each other and everything slowed down.
The mosaic floor gave structure to the image, but the cat brought it to life. Her posture was loose, but attentive. A certain pride spoke from her presence, as if she was at home in a place where people are mere passers-by.
I took this picture quickly, instinctively, but the image lingers. Not through perfection, but through feeling. This is a moment that touches something.
