Cherubs in an enchanting evening sky
Evening Stars shows three cherubs floating gracefully against a mystical purple-turquoise evening sky. This work seamlessly complements the earlier work Morning Light, where the soft morning light has been replaced by an atmospheric starry sky.
Between the clouds, small, yellow stars radiate a subtle glow, creating a dreamy and almost fairy-tale ambience. The cherubs, inspired by the classical Renaissance, have plump bodies, black and white wings and golden curly hair. Their dynamic poses bring movement to the composition: on the left, one cherub tenses his bow, while the other two float playfully through the air.
The contrasting colours enhance the visual impact: the dark wings stand out sharply against the purple background, while the pink skin tones and golden locks add warm accents. The work evokes associations with dreams, romance and guardian angels watching over the night.
