About "Etersheimer Braakmolen"

About the artwork

The Etersheimer Braakmolen is a polder mill in Etersheim (municipality of Edam-Volendam) and drains the Etersheimer Braakpolder of the same name.

The Etersheimer Braak was caused by a dike breach and diked in 1632. The polder grinds out as underdrainage on the polder Zeevang. In 1882 the old mill burned down. The new mill that was built did not last long, as it burned down in 1886. Again, the choice was made to build a new building.

The mill was replaced in 1920 by an electric pumping station, and in 1926 the rods were lowered. In 1935 the hull was even sawn off above the attic.

In 1999, after initiatives taken a year earlier, a foundation was set up to reinstall the mill. Finally in 2002 the hood and rods were placed again. Eventually the mill was delivered in 2005. The mill can grind out as well as in circuit.

The barn and the mill together form a visitor centre called "De Breek". The Etersheimer Braakmolen is regularly opened to the public. The visitor centre is open every weekend of the year.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
