Marktstraße is a central axis in Erfurt's old town, characterised by centuries-old architecture and urban life. Especially at Christmas time, it unfolds a special atmosphere between tradition and everyday urban life.
My motivation for this work was to convey the Christmas atmosphere not through colour, but through contrasts and lighting. The reduction to black and white draws attention to structures, perspectives and the interplay between the old town and modernity.
The visual effect is calm, almost nostalgic. It is about pausing in the hustle and bustle, about noticing details that are often overlooked in everyday life. This work invites reflection - on time, space and seasons.
As part of an interior design, the picture brings a timeless elegance with a local reference. It fits into both modern and classic spaces and creates a link between art, urban history and personal memory.
