About "Erfurt - Fish market - Christmas - Tram black and white"

About the artwork

The picture shows the Erfurt fish market at Christmas time - taken in black and white to emphasise the graphic effect of light, movement and architecture. In the centre is a tram whose movement is made visible by traces of light - an effect of long exposure. The surrounding buildings are richly decorated and adorned with Christmas lighting. The cobbled street and the curved tracks lend depth and structure to the scene. Blurred passers-by hint at the hustle and bustle without overloading the moment.

The fish market is a historic square in the heart of Erfurt, surrounded by magnificent town houses and the town hall. Especially at Christmas time, this place becomes an atmospheric meeting point between tradition and urban life.

My inspiration was to combine the dynamism of the city with the tranquillity of the architecture. The black and white aesthetic reduces the image to contrasts and lines - colour would have been more of a distraction here.

The atmosphere is lively, but not hectic. The image conveys a sense of movement in a historical context - a brief moment in the flow of time.

In an interior, this work acts as an urban eye-catcher. It combines classic architecture with modern imagery and is particularly suitable for rooms that seek clarity, depth and a connection to the city.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
