It was enjoying Ameland again during a five-day stay on my favourite island.
I had agreed with a photographer friend who often stays on the island to go out one evening together. Our idea was to photograph the sunset at the Wadden Sea. We had agreed to meet at the Veerhaven harbour and would then see what the destination on the mud flats would be. We cycled along the mud flats looking for a nice spot, it was low tide. While cycling, we saw thick clouds coming up from the North Sea side and it looked like it was going to close up completely, we were already afraid that the beautiful sunset wasn't going to happen. We decided to carry on anyway and by sunset we arrived in Hollum, fortunately it hadn't closed in. The sky was already starting to colour beautifully and we decided to walk onto the Wadden Sea (not useful if you've just got new shoes :) ).
The sky started to get more and more beautiful and reflected beautifully on the wet mud flats. At such moments I can really enjoy it to the extreme, the colours in the sky the space and silence, just the sound of the birds on the Wadden.
What a great evening this was with beautiful pictures, have put a few on Work on the wall, so you can enjoy this splendour too!
