I took this idyllic, spring-like natural landscape directly after the rain in the early evening of
26 May 2018 with the Nikon D90 camera.
The smooth, harmonious and calm water surface as well as the reflection of the dramatic cloudy sky in the clear water of the gravel lake were a fantastic feast for the eyes and pure soul food for me "city dweller", i.e. pure relaxation in addition to photography.
The Bernsteinsee, a beautiful quarry pond with an area of 0.25 km2 and a depth of 25 metres, is located next to a small forest in the Barnim Nature Park.
The Bernsteinsee is a lake near Ruhlsdorf (Brandenburg). The lake can be reached from the surrounding villages of Schönfeld (about 1 km from the lake), Prenden (2 km away) and Marienwerder (about 3 km away). The Bernsteinsee is located in the catchment area of Biesenthal, which is around 7 kilometres from the lake.
Bernsteinsee Ruhlsdorf is located in the district of Barnim in Brandenburg between Ruhlsdorf and Marienwerder. The gravel lake has open bathing areas with a sandy beach. There is a lido with several beach volleyball courts on the northern shore. The lake has an area of 27.6 hectares with a maximum length of almost one kilometre.
As is typical for gravel lakes, the water is clear and clean with a visibility depth of around two metres. The water quality was consistently rated as "excellent" from 2014 to 2018.
