The Göll (also Göllstock or Göllmassiv) is a mountain range on the eastern edge of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The German-Austrian state border runs along the entire main ridge in a north-south direction. This massif is bounded on the east by the Salzach, on the west by the Königssee, the Königsseer Ache and the Berchtesgadener Ache, and on the north by the continuation of the Berchtesgadener Ache, which on the Austrian side again flows into the Königsseer Ache (Old Alm) and soon into the Salzach. To the south, the Hagen Mountains meet at the Torrener Joch. The dividing lines here are the Königsbachtal in the west and the Bluntautal in the east.
Surrounding valley towns are the municipalities of Schönau am Königssee, Berchtesgaden and Marktschellenberg on the Bavarian side and the municipalities of Anif, Hallein, Kuchl and Golling on the Austrian side.
Emilie Mediz-Pelikan (December 2, 1861, Vöcklabruck Austria - March 19, 1908, Dresden, Saxony, Germany) was an Austrian landscape painter. Many of her works show some Symbolist influence. She lived in Munich and in the artists' colony in Dachau. Later she stayed in Paris and the artists' colony in Knokke.
