Old dilapidated buildings, weathered facades a striking mural and a little restaurant, together tell the story of the Polish town of Zgorzelec. Perhaps a town on the brink of change. This photo captures the charm of decay as well as resilience - a place where the past remains palpable among new life.
About the photo.
The river Neisse separates the German city of Görlitz and the Polish town of Zgorzelec. As soon as I looked at Zgorzelec and saw the old dilapidated buildings together with the mural, I knew I wanted to depict it in the best possible way.
