The Ecoduct Lage Veld, also called ecoduct Beesdsche Veld, is an ecoduct in the Netherlands, located in the province of Gelderland, in the A2 north of Beesd.
An ecoduct, ecopassage, natural bridge, animal viaduct or wildlife viaduct is a civil engineering structure where wild animals can cross an obstacle, such as a road.
Many roads with heavy traffic run through a densely populated country, something which many animals have to pay with their lives when crossing. Sometimes these roads are fenced off for safety reasons, which makes the habitat of many animals too small and due to this habitat fragmentation the survival of animal species is endangered. To allow animals to cross safely, engineering structures are constructed especially for them.
An ecoduct is a flyover for wildlife. The ecoduct is wide and will be planted with plants as natural as possible to enable undisturbed passage of wildlife.
