Earth Wings III

by Tiara Kroes

A powerful abstract painting in which organic forms, deep shades of green and warm earth tones come together to form a unique composition. Moss green, grey-green and almost black alternate with ochre, sand-coloured tones and warm rust-brown accents. Light, whimsical shapes run right through the painting, reminiscent of wings, weathered leaves or natural structures slowly shaped by the passage of time.

The work is built up from various layers of paint, bold brushstrokes and fine, sometimes barely visible lines. In some places, the colours blend softly into one another, whilst in others they stand in sharp contrast. The light forms seem to detach themselves from the dark background, creating a remarkable sense of depth and movement.

*Earth Wings III* has an earthy, mysterious and, at the same time, very natural quality. The rough textures and irregular shapes evoke associations with weathered surfaces, rock and the capricious beauty of nature. The painting demonstrates just how captivating the unpredictable can be. Not everything needs to be recognisable or explainable to move us.

The combination of deep green tones and warm, natural colours gives the work a rich, characterful appearance. It fits particularly well in an interior featuring wood, linen, stone and warm neutral tones. Against a light background, the various layers of paint and organic forms stand out beautifully. This painting is part of the *Earth Wings* series, comprising three related works, each with its own distinct character.
